General Agreement Or Consensus
In the view of many supporters of consensus, the result of this reduced commitment may be less willing to defend the decision or act accordingly. Consensual decisions are an alternative to common group decision-making processes. The rules of Robert`s Order, for example, are a guide used by many organizations. This book makes it possible to structure the debate and to adopt proposals that can be approved by majority. It does not underline the objective of full convergence. Critics of such a process believe it may involve adversarial debate and the formation of competing political groups. This dynamic can damage relations with group members and undermine a group`s ability to co-implement a contested decision. Consensual decisions seek to address the beliefs of these issues. .
